JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Manage the completion of various regulatory, business, compliance and/or systems projects and assignments, as directed, ensuring that AXA and AHCA are in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
* Projects must be completed within required deadlines and require a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, quality and control.
* Manage a dedicated project team of 5-8 FTE.
* Analyze data and processes in order to evaluate business issues/needs, develop or redesign functions/activities/processes, identify required staffing/costs and associated controls, identify trends, recommend potential solutions and achieve desired results.
* Manage the implementation of all recommended solutions to ensure success.
* Keep up with regulatory environment in order to identify needed control points so that AHCA/AXA maintains compliance with regulators.
* Work closely with Retail, Internal Audit, the National Compliance Office, AHCA s management team and the Law Dept. to ensure proper process, supervisory, regulatory controls are in place, as well as contract administration controls, for all projects.
* Interact with Field/Headquarters managers and staff in order to understand and satisfy regulatory/VOC/ business requirements.
* Interact with Field, managers and staff in order to resolve issues, effect new processes, or provide requested information or tools by collecting data and performing needed analyses for business problems.
* Create Staffing Models and identify staffing needs, based on new initiatives or regulatory requirements, and determine impact.
* Document and present project status to management on regular basis.
* Identify Best Practice models for the Department.
* Perform Cost/Benefit Analyses, as needed, and recommend solutions.
* Act as back up to the Business Controls Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of medium to large-scale project management, data analysis, and reporting and financial analysis experience required, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience required.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams on multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
* Success in the position is highly dependent upon analytical skills, problem-solving ability, initiative and innovation. Being able to plan and organize with and through people is critical. Good people-skills required.
* Requisite to the job is a successful track record of experience with exposure to a diverse spectrum of assignments, where the ability to ascertain the nature of issues/opportunities through listening, probing and analysis was demonstrated. Beyond analytical abilities, must be familiar with AXA Equitable.
* Six Sigma or AXA Way experience is a plus.
* The position requires a high level of judgment and knowledge regarding appropriate actions to take in difficult situations.
* Strong business, analytical and presentation software skills are necessary to successfully perform in this position.
* Software experience: Advanced Excel (especially the ability to create tables, graphs, and other visual charts), Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio. In-house systems experience (AIDB, PeopleSoft, LARS), a plus.
* FINRA Series 7 and 24 registrations are recommended.
* Experience in or knowledge of insurance, securities, or financial services compliance regulation
* Ability to perform under pressure and under tight deadlines
* Ability to interact with Branch Managers, Field Staff, Law Department, Compliance, Retail and internal auditors
* Organized with strong attention to detail
* Willingness to succeed under difficult circumstances and in a constantly changing environment.
* Ability to take initiative while anticipating department needs and works proactively
* Strong drive and self-motivated
