Part-Time Consultant (Mandarin Speaking Mechanical Engineering Student)

AST Bearings LLC (AST) is on its way to being one of the largest suppliers of high precision bearings and bearing related products in the USA. Our global customer base consists of leading blue chip OEM s and our products are used in a broad scope of industries from aerospace to medical equipment. We recently completed a re-organization and are well into executing an exciting new strategy that is positioning AST as the national leader in this industry for years to come.

We are presently seeking a part-time consultant who is currently a mechanical engineering student to help us communicate in Mandarin Chinese with our suppliers in China.

This position will be on a consulting basis (you will be contracted with AST, not employed by us). Work hours are expected to be about 10 hours or less per week either in our Montville, New Jersey office and/or off-site phone and email work. Payment will be on a per hourly basis.

Qualifications include:

* Excellent technical communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English (both written and oral skills are a must).
* Must be a Mechanical Engineering student in a degree program.
* Must have Mechanical Engineering skills so that you will understand technical/engineering issues. Any experience in the bearing industry is a plus.
* MS Office skills
* Resourceful and adaptive.
* Organized and disciplined.
* Problem solving and analytical skills.
* Available by phone and email for as needed assignments.
* Must have own transportation to come to the Montville, New Jersey office as necessary.
* Must have own computer with high-speed Internet access.
