Job Description

Mechanical - Marine Project Engineer

(Bridgeport, NJ): Use mechan'l engg principles to dvlp drawings, conduct material analysis & component selection for largescale marine infrastructure projects. Review contract reqmts, client techn'l specs, proposals & comprehend various types of marine structures. Generate CAD drawings of marine/port structures. Estimate material quantities from drawings for bidding purposes & procure pricing from vendors. Compile & track Requests for Info, & perform preliminary review of fabrication shop drawings & data. Interact w/ project, engg & supply chain mgrs for material procurement. Prep techn'l content, & resolve all contract issues. Dvlp new ideas/dsgn concepts to improve productivity & cost reduction. Perform bus. analytics, utilities optimization, data acquisition & prep'n, agent-based modeling & other forms of simulation. Use economic analysis & statistical tools to create budget & forecasts for the organization for better utilization of resources & control costs. Work w/ project mgr on contract changes regarding price or scope. Investigate/visit site for bids, resolve field engg issues, sketch layouts for material delivery & access. Understand & interpret national codes & standards such as ASTM, ASME & AWS. Req: Master's in Mechan'l Engg or rltd field w/ coursework in marine structures + 1 yr of engg exp in marine work involving barges, marine rigs & floating eqpmt. Must have expertise in HCSS, AutoCAD, Autodesk, & Solidworks thru coursework or 1 yr of exp. Send res/cov to HR, at Atlantic Subsea, Inc., hr@atlanticsubsea.com
