Duties: The successful candidate will manage, plan, and administer the system lifecycle activities for corporate strategic projects. This includes documenting and managing the project scope and design specifications, determining the resources required, defining the project schedule, assigning tasks, project communications, maintaining project documentation, implementation, production turnover and post implementation support. In addition to the leadership aspects, a Project Leader primary job responsibility is to develop design specifications and perform programming.
The Project Leader will work closely with internal customers and across IT departments to evaluate business opportunities, assess project impact and to develop the most cost-effective and efficient solutions. This position is also responsible for assessment of project personnel with the IT Managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
" Develops design specifications and performs programming
" Advancing programming standards and ensuring adherence to standards
" Controls and manages project scope
" Prepares timely status reports and maintains project plans
" Ensure project tasks and deliverables meet requirements, are completed on schedule and with the goal of zero defects
" Manages entire project communications in a timely manner to appropriate levels, and escalates issues as needed
" Utilize the lifecycle methodology throughout all phases of the project. Maintain project documentation, including project initiation requests, capital and expense costs, project plans, lifecycle documents, and utilize approved tools
" Interacts with outside vendors when appropriate
" Leads project team members and provides performance feedback to management. Provides immediate feedback as needed to team members
" Manages project budget, including creation, revisions, and variance explanations
" Determine and request resource skill set requirements and assign tasks appropriately
" Seeks new information about business and technology through reading, networking, seminars and classes.
" Operates as a role model, providing coaching, direction and training in project management to other IT team members.
" Performs other duties as assigned
