Summary:

This role is a key member of Capital One's Government Banking business which has ~$7 billion in deposits and caters to public sector entities such as Municipalities, Townships, School Districts, Libraries, Housing Authorities and Public Universities. While Government Banking has been historically a deposit-oriented business, its growth strategy focuses on expanding into unpenetrated markets and in addition to deposit products - offering clients lending, treasury management, asset management, brokerage and other commercial banking product solutions. The person in this role will perform a wide variety of analytical activities to support this growth strategy. This role requires an individual who is capable of both data mining and making suggestions on policy and strategy. This role will be expected to make ~20 client calls and ~10 prospect calls per month throughout their assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:
-Calling on centers of influence, existing clients and prospects to gain primary
banking relationships
-Attending association meetings, conferences and provide a strategy around
marketing, advertising and internal partner engagement
-Developing an annual marketing strategy which includes a tactical approach to
bring in prospects, product/solution focus, competitor analysis and market trends
-Managing profitability of the client portfolio and being accountable for pricing and
profitability strategies
-Working closely with internal product partners to "sell the whole bank"
-To be recognized and established in the market as an expert on government
banking topics and best practices.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Business or Finance degree
- MBA
- Completion of credit training program or the equivalent in work experience
- Completion of Portfolio Manager work experience or the equivalent.
