Internship program designed for students seeking a career within a specified field.
An Internship opportunity for highly qualified college/university students who have the potential to become future leaders in AT&T and the business community. The program provides the Student Intern practical work experience to augment their education and career preparation. During the work experience, the Student Intern will be exposed to the interpersonal relationships a job requires, both with co-workers and supervisors, that are essential in obtaining a successful, satisfying career.
Working as a Student Intern, you will be primarily responsible for assisting with supporting the organization's network management activities. This position is Part Time Term.
Tier 1 Helpdesk support for corporate customers who use WAN IP Based Networking. The support hours will be 24x7x 365 so schedules are flexible to ensure that students can attend their classes. An understanding of basic computer operating systems such as Windows XP/7, Wide Area Networking, Internet connectivity, MS Outlook Browser, and email programs is desired. Maximum work schedules will be twenty hours per week, and schedules will include evenings and weekend work. Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary since primary responsibilities will be to answer calls, use problem determinate skills to resolve the customer's issue, and document the call in a ticketing system. Work will be performed in a team environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Must be in the process of pursuing a 4-year degree
* Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
* Must possess both outstanding written and oral communication skills
* Ability to clear a criminal background check, driver's license check and drug test
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
* Ability to operate a personal computer, wireless equipment, copier and fax
Desired Skills:
WAN Networking, Telco, ISP or Help Desk experience or knowledge
Understanding of onr or more of the following products or serivces: IP Technical Support, router management and configuration, network engineering, DNS
* Ability to work flexible hours, which will vary based on event support
* Ability to work in the evenings and on the weekends
